Alcohol is the silent Killer to Fat Loss

If you want to change your lifestyle, your mood, attitude, relationship with food and exercise, then there are many building blocks we can start with.
There is little point starting with sleep, macros and fitness is your are consuming alcohol on a regular basis.

Keeping this relatable, I won’t go into the details of what happens internally when you binge or consume alcohol regularly. It won’t make sense to most of us, nor do we care.

What we do care about is how we feel, how we look and if we are making progress on a day to day basis.

Let’s make it very clear, regardless if you are used to having a couple of glasses of wine, beer at night and you don’t have a hangover the next day. Alcohol has still taken some of your sharpness. Alcohol blunts your productivity, dims your light and leaves your either depleted of energy or feeling slightly less energetic.

Now this won’t stop you from getting up at 8am for work, it won’t stop you from completing the tasks of the day.
What it will do, is stop you from doing anything extra. It can enable a less will person.
Alcohol can leave you lying in the bed for another hit of the snooze button. It stops you from rising before the alarm clock.
It deprives you of getting up for a 6am workout. Alcohol leaves you with a choice.
Will I make a healthy breakfast for the day, or will I skip breakfast? Have you the energy and now the time to make a decent meal.

Has your appetite has been suppressed? Do you start your day caffeinated and rocking out of the house late, tired and in a rush? Don’t worry you are not alone. We can become acclimatised to this feeling, it becomes almost routine. We don’t know any different. It’s normal, and we think nothing of it. We blame getting older.

Here lies the problem, we forget what it feels like to be awesome in the morning. We are jaded by our lack of enthusiasm to get up and go. The struggle bus is real through the day and can’t wait to finish up our day, get home relax and unwind from a tough day.

You had a stressful or demanding day, you need to unwind, you need a drink to relax, Bam we repeat.

Now I started this by saying Alcohol is the silent killer to fat loss, yet I haven’t talk about how it effects fat loss.

A tired body, doesn’t move as much per day ( burning surplus energy), your food choices are more convenient with less that desirable nutrition(high calories, less nutrition value) . You are less likely to exercise, less likely to hydrate and more likely to stay sedentary each day, stay up late and snack throughout the day. These kill progress.

This is a very normal lifestyle for people today with a goal to lose body fat. You assume the glass of wine is not having a negative effect. How could one or two glasses a night effect it? It does.

I know this because people tell me each day. I sit with people like this every day in our ‘No Sweat Intros’ so before you start cutting out carbs and eating salads. Try cut out Alcohol, do it for a month then maybe two months.

Watch your day, life open up in front of you. Swap the beer for something better you’re worth it.
If you think thats impossible, then we might need to talk more than you think. ๐Ÿ™‚
